We're back!


It's been quite a while, hasn't it? The last post I made to this game was back in August, and since then, a lot has changed. I want to make this post to go over the future of the game and address what's changing.


One of the most important changes coming is a possible engine swap. The game will probably be developed in Godot rather than Unity going forward. Whatever happens, the game is also going to be redone in 3D. This was the original intention, before the idea of a 2D version with prerendered graphics being developed along side it was created. The 3D version was then quietly canceled as progress on the 2D version moved forward. From now on, the game will be exclusively in 3D, as it was originally intended.


Another major change is that I'm going to be redoing the models again. I'm phasing out the current models for three main reasons:

  1. They look bad.

  2. They use stolen textures. (So do the originals, but those were phased out a long time ago.

  3. They have an atrociously high poly count. Here's a WIREFRAME shot of Freddy:

    It's practically solid. No game engine would run that smoothly.


The story is also going to be completely reworked. And with this, the name is also going to change. "The Incinerated Ones" was only the name because I didn't understand how normal maps worked when I was making the original models, leading them to look almost burnt and charred, which is where the name comes from. I think it goes without saying that this doesn't apply to the characters now, and especially doesn't apply to the story, not that it ever did. The current working title is going to be " Left Behind." There's a good chance this will change later on. I've also gone ahead and removed all the teasers that feature the old models from the game page.


That's really all the major changes that are worth going over. I'll post updates whenever I have anything to show off.

Next up

These are some old models I made for a canceled FNaF 1 remake I was working on during the extended break I was taking from this game. Like I said, the game's canceled, but I'm going to be either remaking or reusing these little bobblehead models.

Finished up the fixed design of Foxy. This is probably my favorite design I've made for the game so far. The more withered version should be coming soon.
