The player controlling sonic used an infinite lives hack, while all of Sonics friends ran out of lives and died forever, sonic was forced to live forever without his friends, his player left the game and now no matter how many times sonic kills himself he will never get a game over to restart the game. He will never see his friends again, the only company he has is robotnik, but he’s stopped trying to kill sonic because sonic wants to die.
