Weekly Update (12) (Ever-Sleep Development Update)

Hey everyone!

It's been a great and chill week, I got accepted into University so I'll be starting that in September! Alongside, Ever-Sleep's development has been going really well, despite devoting a lot of time in playing Persona 5 Royal. I'm currently doing Okumura's Palace, which is easily one of my favourites so far.

Before all of that, let's shout-out everyone who left a charged sticker this past week!

Ever-Sleep

In the last Update, I said I needed to do two more environments; these environments are finished and have been added into the game already. At this stage, the gameplay aspect of the game is pretty much done so we're making good progress. The only things left to do are compose some new tracks, do the cutscenes and the ending. It's actually somewhat scary that the game I've been bashing my head over the MANY concepts of is finally almost done.

Though I will preface this, it's more of a test for upcoming projects than anything else. It's also a good excuse to dip my toes in more original content, so if you're here mainly for my FNaF content, expect to be disappointed.

Once the game is done, that's basically it with the game. There won't be additional content, though expect a full OST release right after the full game's release to come. I won't lie, I've had way more fun making this than anything else so far; there hasn't been any instance of burnout.

One thing I will say, is a lot of things will be kept vague for a potential continuation to dabble in. Things like where the creatures originally came from are hinted at through the environment.

Post Ever-Sleep Plans:

After I'm done with this, I do need to get back to working on things like Bunny Man when the other things people on the team need to do are done. Until then, there is also something else I am planning on working on and that's certainly something I've hinted at a lot. There is a clear vision for that game written up and modelling is underway for the main environment.

There is also the topic of University, which as I said before, I will be starting out in September and studying for 4 years. Now, I'm unsure how much of my time it will take over when it comes to my independent work, but it's exciting nonetheless. I'm also planning some other horror games in the future, some point-n-click and one is in the style of those RPGMaker games, like Yume Nikki for example.

Nothing else is really concrete, like Damensions 2, but that's self-explanatory.

Other than that, that's basically it for this week's update! Ever-Sleep is nearly done, I'm going to Uni later this year.

Next up

Just finished the apartment area, so now it's on to two new environments. Have an in-game photo that's used as a texture for one of the set pieces.

Remade my Flat-Line Freddy model I showed off a while ago.

Spent about a week modelling a Springtrap while doing other stuff.

I'll probably redo the FNaF 1 gang at some point, since I'm trying to catch up with the models I'd done months ago, starting with the one from before my old PC died.

Merry Christmas (Woke up)

The Official Ever-Sleep Page is up!

Currently wrapping up with the ground floor area. After this is the attic, the cutscenes and then finalisation. In short, we're getting close to done with the game.

The whole game is finished, all that's left to do is play through it and fix any issues. For a short game, three months isn't bad for on and off development time.
