"Started some time in 2021 was an odd youtube channel by the name of "Graverobber". It only really posted random b roll and occasional animation tests, not much to say about them. Things changed though starting October 23rd, 2023, when on the channels miraculously obtained community posts started being posted daily reports from a fictional guy called Derek in his search to find an old lost browser point and click survival horror game named simply "anemoia", and the weird stuff that happened around it. 4 days later on the 27th, the channel alongside one final report from the guy to cap it off posted a video showcasing a shotty attempt at the first roughly 6 minutes of gameplay, alongside a link to play the game for yourself via browser. The game was initially quite unknown in the horror scene, until roughly at around the penultimate Derek post where the wider scene discovered the game had direct blatant connections to actual real life murders and dissapearances of literal children all from around Hurricane, with the plot allegedly surrounding the game being made by the fictionalized responsible party to artistically interpret the fates of the victims. Rightfully the game was heavily bashed for this insane decision which led to only a few hours after the games public release the dev absolutely losing it on his community posts with an extremely long angry rant in his defense. A short while after, the channel was wiped off the face of the platform, and with not much documentation or archived postings due to how nieche it was. Thankfully though, someone has provingly been found to have obtained an executable copy of the game, and plans to release it some time tomorrow, in order to preserve this uniquely bizzare part of the growing digital horror genre."
