Communities gather people around a shared interest and inspire people to create and contribute in forms of thoughts, artwork, videos, playthroughs, guides, wikis, cosplays and so much more!
Create or join a community around what you're passionate about. By sharing your work in a community, people will get a chance to discover and follow you! #GJFamous
Once you've joined (or created) a community you'll see a navigation bar on the left to alert you of notifications within your community.
Create a community
Add a relevant thumbnail and a header image to your community page. Be sure to assign moderators to help you select posts to be featured and maintain your community rules/guides (we suggest you add community rules in your community description)

Each community is organized by a customizable list of channels for you to contribute what you're best at and view what other community members are working on.

Find a community
Similar to Discord, you'll need the URL of a community in order to join it. While we're still in BETA, popular and trending communities will be discoverable from the Explore page for the time being. (Read the Get Featured section below to find out how we select communities to feature)
Grow your community
It's time to let people know about your community, share your community URL with the world, online. Try Discord, Twitter, Reddit, forums, etc. Ask talented people to share their work in your community with your members. Remember, this is your community, so you get to grow it with the people you want!
Get featured!
We are looking for Communities that can act as role models. We'll be featuring the most active communities that have a constant stream of awesome content. Featured communities will be showcased across the site in order to bring new members into them! We'll be looking at # of members, # of posts as well as an active moderation team within a community to decide on who we promote and feature.
Not sure what to post in a community? Here are some suggestions to get you started.
Do you have artwork or some doodles to show?
Do you create reviews or videos of game playthroughs?
Have you recently played around with some sounds?
Do you have tips or guides to share for an especially challenging game?
Did you encounter something funny worth sharing?
Feedback
Communities features will be changing quite a bit based on your suggestions, use cases and feedback. If you'd like to be involved in the evolution of communities, share your thoughts in the comments section or on the gj-improve forum.
