A satanic cult summons a demon called Chronos, and then they offer a place where it can feast on souls for eternity. Chronos accepts their offer, finding itself inside a bootleg of Sonic CD made by the cult. The way it gets his souls is to gain the players trust or make them play as much as possible, because the more somebody plays the bootleg the more access it has to their soul until it's able to bring their soul into the game (or if they just make a deal with it and let it take their soul for some reason) and feast off their fear and soul for eternity, while putting their body (aka corpse at this point) in a coma. Chronos ends up keeping the person's organs alive while the skin decays because "it tastes more alive." it states.

Sometimes instead of feasting off their souls it will play with their victims turning them into Bronze model 1 (bootleg metal sonic) and will either start playing hide and seek with them, make them try to fight it, or wait at the end of the level. every one of these games end with it killing the soul then eating it.
