Well now Purple guy exists in the game as you can see, he wasn't originally planned, but he didn't change anything in the story or development for the worse.

He's like a shadow animatronic, he's a being of agony that's based on William Afton's shadows, but he's not 100% caused just by agony, he's being made by an old golden friend to tease you.
It's not complete right now, I don't know if it's just going to be an easter egg, a non-deadly, customizable animatronic, or whatever.
And this certainly won't be the only time you'll see them.
And you probably won't see the un-withered version in the game.
