From now on, this game page will serve as the Legacy Version of the Game
That's it, yep. This page is NOT being archived, as i said this will only work as a legacy web page for my dusttale take. Since i don't want to call it "FD!Dusttale" anymore.
The game has been receiving a slowly reboot, with only ruins being the main priority for now. Because before focusing on the actual game we'd need to finish this old version first (for the priority of the community and more). I also got Undercreator recently and i'll be doing some tests with it over time. Some of them may get the light of day some time who knows, but most importantly. I wont be able to compose music for a looong while, for more information check this post right here.
Before going back again with the reboot thing i wanna leak some of the planned soundtrack for this version of the game before doing so.
here ya go'

(ask anything you feel like to, consider important relating to this document in the comments)
Now back to what everyone was waiting for, my dusttale take is (in fact) getting a rework that initiated in this year. And may get more and more content progressively.
This also adds that the Legacy and Reboot Era has a different game title respectively, while the Legacy is FD!Dusttale. The Reboot is named over the name of DUSTTALE: Darkness Realm and is more suited to a Content addon and Deltarune approach, but i don't want to spoil so let's get to the next section already.
DIFFERENCES & STORYLINE
Well now let's get to the basic topic, writting. While this section isn't completely done in both versions of the game, i have some great ideas and concepts done about it (some pretty bad imo). The main difference in writting/storyline with FD!Dusttale and DUSTTALE: Darkness Realm can be easily noticeable since a beginning.
FD!Dusttale begins as the generic dusttale plot game; the important thing to know here is that sans commits the genocide route from gaster's advice and stuff (from track 1 he practically appears in the screen and talks to the player), sans gains determination out of nowhere (just like the og evan's dusttale), five sans encounters take place in this take/era and you (as the player/human) only fought agaisnt papyrus, sans, mettaton and flowey. (There's also a Undyne Encounter but that's exclusive from legacy era. And it's basically Sans vs Undyne, pretty generic imo but there'll be more about it pretty soon, once snowdin is finished).
In conclusion: this era of the take is pretty much generic and more "fanon" (?) if we can say so. Sans designs and appearance are more simplistic, and there's not much to dig in. Dare to say the best or most important part of the game would've at the final sans encounter, which i plan to make something very epic to finish with.
Now let's get back to DUSTTALE: Darkness Realm. Unlikely FD!Dusttale. There's a prologue here (yeah i ran out of ideas sorry), the prologue is pretty short but is mostly an excuse to later on make the dusttale events happen (this takes a lot of inspiration from UNDERTALE²⁰¹⁴ so if you haven't checked it yet, do it what are you waiting for.)
The prologue consist of a sans fight in a genocide run with a small apparition of flowey at the end. In the sans fight, sans's is telling you about some weird experiences that he has happened lately, some strange nightmare happened to him when he was asleep, sans tells you with detail his dream: It was some sort of flashback of himself with an unknown person, doing some kind of experiments about artificial determination and something else. For later on the scenery getting changed, with him in front of a mysterious gray door. Everything distorted in the moment he decided to open it. Sans suddenly wakes up from it's dream and his curiosity filled his mind. But he doesn't attached such importance to it.
That importance fades the moment he finds himself in Waterfall, resting at one of his usual posts, until he strangely hears an unsettling sound. He decides to investigate and, to no one's surprise, finds the mysterious door in the middle of nowhere. And opens it.
Similarly to Last Breath, Gaster tells sans about the human's constant genocide runs and player's attempt for a new ending: Sans seeing the constant loop of routes. He rest matter and doesn't care at all, deciding to leave the room.
Now on the sans fight, sans realizes what gaster did tell him was true and that he's trying to stop this cycle. But sans as the person he is, doesn't care and just follows his role as the judger (likely on Dr. Megalo). The sans fight is more dynamic and harder than the original, the phase 2 and special attack are also longer. And he manages to dodge the second slash at the end, so yeah it's gonna be different since sans here got more knowledge but still knows is not worth the effort because in the end, he's deemed to lose (even with a dusttale route). This makes sense making sans be someone already that given up in the past, that even if he tries. He knows he'll eventually gonna lose. Because he's scripted like this way.
Once finishing the sans fight you get to flowey, who can't recognize you anymore. And says you are just another monster. Flowey here don't shake and cowards, simply looks at you the way you are. A monster. (The flowey personality here is pretty much, subject to change so nothing's final!)
Now for making sans be the main antagonist in the Dusttale Route i don't have an exact idea, the only i know is that sans will be forced to do so and be the vessel for Gaster's triumph card.
Only Flowerbed and Ruins has been done in plans of writting for DUSTTALE: Darkness Realm so uhm yeah, not a lot planned for the dusttale route yet. And the Flowerbed Encounter being mostly sans is not confirmed yet because everything is subject to change too, the few i will say here is that the ruins encounter will not be under toriel's home. It will be done in a expanded area/zone of the Ruins where you can access the Ruins City (aka. Ruined City) shown in the Undertale 10th Anniversary Stream, also if you're asking. Yes i plan to eventually add most or some of the expansions shown in the stream for the Main Areas of the Game in this take.
That's about it, now let's get into...
SOUNDTRACK
to start off. FD!Dusttale and the Rebooted version will be separated games and completely different as a whole, this means the music and soundtrack will be unique in their ways and not recyclement will be done, just like the two albums that can be found in the soundcloud page of the game (except that this account will include both of these: legacy and reboot ost)

When FD!Dusttale has up to 30 tracks planned, DUSTTALE: Darkness Realm has more than 90+ Planned tracks!
Gotta say that's quite a lot, but i plan this game to be my biggest Undertale Fangame ever (even if that takes ages to do)
according to this post murderous despair v3 should be out pretty soon, but uh. oh... EVEN bad news!! The song must be delayed to at least Mid-2026 and the exact date is actually unknown. Only time will do it's part, for in-deep information about why this has to be this way then check this: .
SCRAPPED CONTENT
Well to end this section (and long article post too), i'll be posting some scrapped or unused content right here.
Ruins Encounter
This is a sketch i made years ago about the ruins encounter sans idle pose, i don't remember the exact date and honestly don't want tho because this stinks so bad.

Misc
Unused Thumbnail Artwork for BONETROUBLE made by BadassSkeleton
(it's not truly "scrapped" at all, it's cool and everything but don't know if i should replace the actual thumbnail for this one. Actually this thumbnail fits for what's a bonetrousle replacement but for bonetrouble itself it's something i gotta doubt about it, the song sounds too upbeat or chiptune for something worth of it (at least for me). Feels like this should be used for something more experimental or creepy i don't know at all, leave your comments below about what do you think.)

Scrapped Thumbnail Artwork for Scorched Wasteland (V.1) made by BadassSkeleton
This one is simple, after the track's removement from SoundCloud this art got scrapped. Initially this thumbnail artwork was a design or thumbnail sketch, so it remained as the version 1 thumbnail.

Aaaaand, that's about it.
Pew, finally done with this devlog almost done with it after 3+ Hours or so? hope you enjoyed! as so i did, and have a merry christmas and happy new year to everyone!
Take care.
