Hello World!
So hows everything going???
…
Yeah I know it’s been over a year.
Let me be brief, since ARANA 0.9 was released, I have since:
Started collage,
been trying to keep up a retail job on the weekends,
rinse, repeat for about a year-
Then comes this semester. You see, I’m now working a full time job this semester, obtaining experience in my field. So sort of an internship sort of deal.
But I digress, this basically means that I have FAR much more time to dedicate to this project, and trust me, I have full intentions of finishing it, even if it comes out once I graduate.
But that begs the question, what has been done, and what’s going to happen to this page?
I’ll start with this page, I’ll occasionally touch it with a post or two throughout this semester until the end of summer, when I return to school. But don’t expect much of any of the campaign on here, maybe a sneak peak at specific additions that may or may not carry over into the rest of the game.
But as for the project itself, here a rapid fire:
-ARANA is now a tentative title, it’s shall be refereed to as “Project ARANA” until a proper title can be decided on.
-Items are getting a rework, particularly in how progression works, replacing the inventory system with a list of locks/unlocks akin to the campaign screen
-All characters are getting another move added to their arsenal
-On the topic of characters, many are getting reworked due to this addition, Sal is a prime example
-Many of the visual are being reworked to fit the greater detail that my later visuals have obtained, probably more
-Work on the second campaign scenario has been coming along slowly
—As of yesterday no less, I have been utilizing Jobo’s lighting system to achieve a distinct feel for this chapter
—-I’ll likely be modifying the lighting when needed, since it’s open source, I might upload my personal changes there? (Heavy maybe, non-specific changes if so)
(Yes the gif is stuttery)
-The campaign and the arenas will be tied together in terms of progression
—Ties back to the reworked progression system
-A closed beta will be hosted on Itch.io for testing once the campaign is finished
—more details once relevant
As you might expect, with the exception of starting chapter 2, all work has been designing and research. Which isn’t bad, I’m glad I did anything with this project while in school.
With all that laid out and said, here’s a over half a years worth of work to put into this project!
Until then!
