first off I'm going to make this clear, I love helluva boss and even though I consider episode 5 to be the worst one so far there are still things I liked about it. for starters stolas is at his most tolerible here, I never liked how they tried making him a sympathetic character so when he stays in his lane as comic relief he can get a few laughs. I like the plot of stolas's wife trying to get him killed that not only makes sense but can lead to some cool moments in the future. the fight scenes in this episode are some of the best in the series. that's about it now lets get to what I hated
the cliches: to be more specific this episode does the "weak husband has to prove himself to strong family of his loved one only to learn he doesn't need to prove himself" cliche. a cliche that isn't very entertaining and isn't utilized in a clever way here
millie's voice: now to be fair this is more of an issue with the series as a whole but I find millie's already annoying new voice to be at its most grating here. either give us the old voice actor back or have her talk less
its not funny, which is one of the biggest crimes because this is the only episode of HB that I can think of that got almost no laughs out of me. I guess saying it isn't funny is a stretch but it got the least amount of laughs out of me, only a handful of chuckles
the characters: this one REALLY pissed me off because everyone acts like a complete idiot. first we have blitzo, when he's confronted by striker he has a gun to his chest. we learn that blitzo was just stalling for moxie but why? blitzo could have easily shot striker on the spot and saved them both the trouble. then we have moxie, he had a gun on him when he fought striker and never ONCE thought to pull it out, even when he was getting strangled he didn't think to grab his gun and shoot him dead. then we have striker himself the DUMBEST villain we've seen so far. he finds out that moxie knows about his plan and tries to kill him then millie intervines and he just... doesn't want to kill him anymore? he says that he wants to use them as leverage on blitzo but lets be honest he shouldv'e known that blitzo didn't care about their lives...okay maybe millie but definitely not moxie. so he decides to keep them hostage yet he A. doesn't tie them up, yes he locks them in a cellar but you'd think that a competent bounty hunter would tie up his hostages, and dumbest of all HE DOESN'T DISARM THEM!!?!?!?!?!?!?!? WHAT THE FUCK. he doesn't take away their guns, or get rid of anything they could use to escape?! even if you make the argument that he didn't know they had guns (which is BS because he knows that moxie and millie kill for a living and likely have weapons on them) but even if he didn't know you're telling me he was too stupid to check! first rule of keeping hostages is to make sure they can't fight back IE TAKE THEIR GUNS AWAY!
