So yeah, its been a long time since I’ve announced TAOR 3. 8 months may not seem long, but trust me. It is. But I feel like I should explain.
Basically when making a game, what do you think takes longest? I feel like a lot of you will say programming. Which you’re not at all wrong to assume that. But really, thats not it.
What takes longest in game dev is planning. Planning will take a long time. Like about 80% of game development is planning. And sometimes, your plans won’t even work out in some parts and you’ll need to replan other parts.
Thats where Anarchy of Redbear 3 resides. I have almost nothing planned out for it. I have characters and setting planned out. Nothing else. This is why TAOR 3 is taking so long.
Where 3 will shine is story. Like, Anarchy of Redbear 3 is meant to be the finale of Chapter 1. I want it to be a good ending to part of TAOR’s story. But more of TAOR’s story happens around 2018-2020. I want a lot of those mysteries solved, and others left for Chapter 2. If I want all mysteries solved, then I will need to plan out a lot more for the full thing.
Anyway, 3 is no longer a one night game. I’ll think about what I want over time.
Have a good evening, and an easy as hell NNN.
