Word Portal Update

My first Unity 3D-based game, Word Portal is nearly ready to ship! I’m finalizing the achievements and online code now and hope to release it to you in a week or so.

Supported platforms include Windows 8 store, Windows Phone 8, Android, iOS and MacOS. Not 100% what the shipping order will be, but Android will likely be first, followed almost immediately by iOS (iPhone and iOS).

In the last few weeks we’ve been working hard on implementing our online game code.

This allows you to compete against other players who have played or are playing online. The offline version of the achievements system is 100% done now. There are 20 achievements in the first release. More may be added as time goes by.

Finally, we also added an avatar to the game! This was done for several reasons. We really wanted to learn more about Mecanim and take advantage of our Mixamo All Access subscription before renewing it in April. We also felt that the levels need to have more of a dynamic feel to them. The avatar now has multiple actions he can take based on current game state: idle, played word, invalid word, etc. We’re still working on a name – suggestions are welcome!

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!

Enemies can also suddenly spawn through Realm Rifts. These Rift Spawns are going to be stronger than the ones wandering around. TBD on the enemies... #screenshotsaturday #godstear #madewithunity

Update 2.627

New challenges & new effects!

I worked so hard to get all four of them to the end safely, but then...

An infected room from the second part of Cybel ! Are you up for some cleansing?

I mostly build 3D First Person Shooter game mechanics in Unity, and in this I'm just showing C4 mechanics I made for a little side project I am working on! :)

Out of boredom and curiosity, I coded Sailor Jupiter's Argentine Backbreaker.
