Whew! We've implemented the last remaining user interface window of our game - the World Map screen.
This is still using a placeholder map texture that we made a while ago while working on the world outline with our writers, and once we have the final version of the map, we will of course post that here for our followers to check.
World Map in Shores will function similarly to classic RPGs of old: while some locations will be connected directly (such as individual buildings in a town), travelling between two bigger locations will be performed through the World Map - e.g. going from one town to another.
Depending on where you are in the story, some locations might become unavailable, and some locked locations may open for another visit - sidequests, anyone?
And here's an insider look at a level we use to debug location positioning on the map. Very meta.
