Stupid fact, DATA was meant to look more like Mario the Immortal (otherwise known as Executable M) but Marvin made an error with his design, causing him to look like MX. It was just a goof.

To answer the question if MX and DATA.MAC were to meet, MX would be an asshole to MAC and his requirements to live that you'll see some time when his lore rewrite is done.
