when you design new moves for a character, do you work on the animation first and then build the move around the animation, or do you design what exactly the move does first before working on its aesthetics?

just looked over the new animations and moves i made for buddy and to my annoyance, most of them are redundant and some would be better off as attacks in a second combo dial

not sure what to make of this

which do you think is better, xdx's animations for anaconda virtue, or gungod64's animations?

i ask mainly because i can't decide which one to build upon

so bashful has a script that can speed up enemy attack animations by pressing the "shift" key as they happen

can't seem to find it though, looked through the "scripts" section of the database and everything

but i have a feeling it's somewhere very obvious

instead of a move that gives him +ironbody, why not just make cyclops pour water over himself instead of oil? it'd be more interesting than another basic flexing move

maybe it could change the element of his fire-based attacks too

should +sleep give the inflicted weak regen? resting gives a full restore, why not a short nap in the middle of combat

could make for interesting pointless-esque balancing where you try to get stunlocked to conserve resources

family members got covid, so i'm restricted from accessing the computer with rpg maker installed on it

but expect an update for rando's perspective once that's done, will probably be for a week or so before i could do that

is xdx's warlord's temper still up for grabs?

buddy is one of those characters that feels sorta off in her base moveset, but you can't really capture what made her click either

i've already created and remade 15 (16?) animations for arkantos' rendition and something *still* feels missing

a common snark about buddy's plot armour is how she managed to kill big lincoln as a kid

what if she didn't, though? what if big lincoln survived like how dusty survived brad, and visits buddy post-joyful from time to time to play chess or something
