Yet another Fun Fact: Richard "Dick" Best was one of two pilots to attack multiple aircraft carriers on the same day (June 5th, 1942). He participated in the attacks against Akagi and the counterattack against Hiryu. He never flew again.
Another Fun Fact: In just 5 minutes, the Imperial Japanese Navy lost 3 carriers, Akagi, Kaga, and Souryu to American SBD Dauntless Dive Bombers belonging to USS Enterprise's Bombing Six and Scouting Six.
Fun Fact: During the start of the Pacific Theater in WWII, the Philippines, an archipelago in South East Asia, held out longer for 6 months against the Japanese. France only held out for 6 weeks.
