I don't exactly remember the dialogue but here's bits of a cutscene from DREADWALKER: Christmas Eve 1998 with a child Jace Vancewell/John Knight and his father.
I actually found it sweet. Was a nice break from the scary stuff. Dude got a robot as a gift.

I haven't thought about this non-existant question but the Changed/Silenced/Dazed characters that were important in the story (Ed being the unborn child of Jace, etc) are obviously to be replaced with original designs. They might look a little familiar...
