hi all, the theme of this week end is "shrinking"

http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/platformer/predation/4005/ (my game)

Since it takes a long time to enter Indiekombat, I decided to do a much shorter event.

our aim will be to make an awesome game in 72 hours.

We will post screenshots tomorrow, and keep you hourly (almost) informed of our progress by editing our first post. The game is a bout shrinking.

Contest ends monday at 6 PM GMT.

We will then require some of you to judge our two games, follow 4 aspects:

Gameplay /5

Graphics /5

Story /5

Fun /5

screenshot added ^^, how is your game going, 1 ?

My game is going fine, thank you. So far I'm done with most of game mechanics and interaction (including dialogues, as you may see), generic character model (which really easy to edit to fit needs), and two levels. Two small screens in bottom corners of window provide player with view over the area to left and right, giving a 180-degree view arc.
All this takes 337 lines of code (256 in main code file, and 81 in header with resource & variable definitions).
I assume that I'll have about 5-7 levels done till tomorrow, and about 15-20 at the deadline (may turn out a bit more or less depending on average level size and detail).

seems nice 0_0

let's see if the people on gamejolt will prefer a 2D or a 3D game :3

I prefer both a 2D and 3D game.

2D and 3D has been done before. 4D, please.

I prefer both a 2D and 3D game.

mind=blown

I made a 4D game last year :DDDD

well actually, it's a 3D game but there is a double-screen vision, so when you cross your eyes, you see the world in 3D. Since it was more thn 3D, I put it in the 4D category.

Edit: and I added a screenshot

Edit2: and I think there's a typo ._. it's doll

Dang Yellow! That looks insane!!!

What do you use to make games?

It seems like Gamestudio's A8. I personally haven't used it, but I have a friend who has and recomended it to me.

I wont give up :p

It's a challenge to see if I can do better than him with a crappy program such as gamemaker :3

Game Maker really isn't crappy; it's just interpreted and aimed towards novices.

and here is my game:

http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/platformer/predation/4005/

I kinda focused more on gameplay, story and fun than on graphics.

But well. May the best of us win ^^

you may now give your ratings on this topic for each game:

graphics/5

gameplay/5

story/5

fun/5

and add the total

Or, or, or. We could vote on the bestest. :D

well. start voting then :D

I vote 1

I'd prefer you rate, like that I know who played the games.

But well. Any others? ._.

(yeah, I cant just stand here and let 1 win with just one vote :D and i'm still waiting comments on my game.)

I've played both games, and simply enough, I enjoyed One and Light more.

Necrobumping this because woah, I miss this kind of gamedev duel thing.
Those used to be big (from my perspective)
I wonder why they don't happen anymore (or if they do, why I am not aware of them)
