In this thread I shall review games hosted here on Game Jolt every once in awhile.

The reviewing style will be the same as in my "Know Your Classics" thread, however in that thread I reviewed old games mostly for older consoles/machines. In this thread I will review games hosted here on Game Jolt.

You can make me a request to review yours, however as I am a very busy guy, I must be honest to you and tell you that the chance your game will be reviewed will be rather small. As I do take reviewing seriously I wanna take time for this, and I rarely have much time ;)

Games eligible for a review mostly fit the next criteria:

  • I must be able to play them on a Mac

  • Free games only or games that have a free demo. I will only review paid games if I was planning to buy them anyway. (If you really want me to review your paid game and give me a free copy for reviewing purposes I will not be an unreasonable guy).

  • Basically no fan games, although a few extra notes on that one

    • FNAF clones and Undertale clones are under all circumstances OUT OF THE QUESTION.

    • In exceptional cases a fan-made game can be reviewed, but the chance is very very small.

  • Game Jolt games only.

  • My motto is "you can only be a professional if you can appreciate an amateur's work". That is all very cool but if you wanna be eligible for a review by me a certain attempt to take your project seriously is in order. MS-Paint graphics looking awful with hardly a game description will not be even looked at!

  • I am most of all in RPG and puzzle games and sometimes arcade and action. I absolutely HATE sports games, flight simulators, strategy games. If you have a game like that I will nearly always decline to review it, because I am simply not the right person to do so.

  • Old games have as much chance to be reviewed as new games.

Exceptions to these criteria are possible, but I expect that 90% of the games reviewed will fit these.

Oh yeah, I said it before and I'll say it once again, the chance your game gets a review is very extremely small, simply because I'm a busy man. And quite often I can feel like I'm not the right person to make a review. And mostly due to my busy schedule I will very likely only let you know if I actually make a review. So don't start bugging me if you don't get any response.

Most of the games reviewed in this thread will be reviewed on my own accord and that is my prime goal for this thread.

You may comment my reviews, but please only do so if you have something CONSTRUCTIVE to say and please reply to the review in question so I know WHICH review we're talking about. Thank you!

Thanks for replying. No problem, if it isn't your type of game.

So, I would like you to review this game: https://gamejolt.com/games/dontgiveup/354865. The game is not mine, but when I first played it, I just loved this indie game and wanted to share it with others to see if they have the same opinion as mine. This game is undoubtedly my favorite GameJolt game. It's a demo, I hope you enjoy it.

I can always take a look when I got the time... I got a pretty full schedule now, but the game does indeed look pretty interesting... No promises, though... I should set up a review queue ;)

I have set up a QUEUED FOR INDIE REVIEW playlist...
Please note being placed there does not guarantee a review, but I will when my schedule allows me to surely have a look at it

This is super cool that you're doing this, helps indie developers a lot I think

Thank you... I no longer use this topic for reviewing anymore, though.
I have a blog page here on GJ, but I am moving most of my reviewing activities to my tumblr page, to which I hope to find the time to add more reviews soon.

I'm glad you like my review, and my reviewing style. 😉
