Somebody with access to one of my team's accounts deleted the game from GameJolt completely. Is it possible to recover them?

Maybe, it depends on how long ago it was deleted. What is your game?

Last I check, this goes for both Games and Dev Log Pages, If its deleted on your end then it is removed from the site permanently. You can still repost it, however you can't recover the old data that was deleted. Again thats just from what I've heard from being on this site.

(Some Advice)

  1. Try contacting @Gamejolt by email, there has been plenty of tough situations that have been resolved by contacting the admin directly, but If the Admin can't do anything then unfortunately there is nothing that can be done.

  2. Never allow other people to gain access to your account, even if they are "Team Members" its just asking for problems in the future. There has been plenty of examples of people getting passwords changed, getting projects deleted, etc. If you need a format that allows you and your team members to transfer projects and other content over online, then try some programs that specialize in that kind of stuff. All I'm saying is...
(it's your account for a reason, don't do anything that would change that.)

Oh one more thing, I might have missed read your situation when I made my second statement. I'm not sure if you guys are sharing an account or if this was just your team member's private account, but regardless if someone else has access to your guys accounts I would highly recommend contacting @Gamejolt about that as well.

I'm pretty sure there is not much that can be done about your deleted game, but I know for a fact that the admin can force kick every user of every device off an account, which forces the users to log back in. Before making that request make sure whoever's account has this unwanted user on it changes the password, that way whoever was on the account causing all of these problems can't log back in.

(You can reply back if i'm reading this situation wrong or if you found this at all helpful in any way)

Hey, thanks for trying to help the guy but what you think you know as "fact" is, in fact, wrong.

  1. No metadata about the game is ever deleted. We need this information around forever for things like ad revenue, sale history, anti fraud, etc.

  2. The only thing that is not guaranteed to remain available is the game files since long deleted game files might be purged, but in many cases games can be FULLY restored.

I do agree however that you shouldn't give access to people you can't fully trust, but I don't recommend against having team accounts if you guys are organized enough to maintain them.

  1. I never said "THESE ARE THE HARD FACTS" I never stated anything I said as "facts"
I'm pretty sure I said "From what I heard" as in, I'm not 100% sure on the issue but here are my few cents on this case, thats kinda why I suggested to contact @Gamejolt about the issue regardless to the previous things I said.

  2. for your (1) statement, I know about the recorded data but that was not the main concern for the person posting, I was focusing on the main issue which is the data for the game itself. Again not saying this is "certain" but logically speaking chances of the game being recovered is rather low, it just wouldn't make sense to waste all that memory for removed games. Also it even states...

[Unedited Copy/Paste]
(Removing your game page will remove it from the site completely. This is permanent!)

So in other words your (2) statement was the one I was referring to mainly

Sorry If i'm coming off hostile, but maybe you shouldn't reply to the one person who has given more helpful suggestions than you that "Hey everything you think is right is wrong :P" then gives statements that I'm already aware of and don't actually point out how I'm wrong.

So, again I'm not trying to be mean or start anything, all I'm saying is your starting sentence rubbed me the wrong way.

I know about the saved meta data, I was focusing mainly on the game data itself which was the whole point of this persons question. Also I never stated anything I said as facts so I don't know whats up with your first sentence there buddy.

Okay, okay, okay.... Let's keep the peace.

No need to call each other names.
I admit the text in the dashboard can be a bit misleading, but it basically means that YOU as a user cannot recover the game anymore, but indeed, the text states indeed things bigger than they are.

What Fernando states is true in the extend that we can indeed recover all the data about the game, I wasn't very sure about the actual downloadable data/webgl content of the game, but Fernando cleared that one up for me (I know much but not everything).

I also need to note that Fernando is a staff member, in fact, he's one of the site's developers. His job is therefore, as long as that of all other staff members to prevent the tiniest chance of confusion. I know he can be a bit very "straight" in his expressions, but in this case I'm pretty sure he wasn't trying to attack or even scold you, but to just prevent any sort of confusion the OP of this thread (or any other user who reads this for that matter) could have.

I was already trying to discuss the matter backstage, when Fernando came here, and that was why I left this thread alone. ;)

So let's shake hands now... no hard feelings.... right ;)

I'm sorry, I got hot headed....
The first post I made was un professional and it didn't come up when I posted, so i thought it never went through. So I made some corrections with my second, trying not to be as mean...

I'm truly sorry about that longer post I made to Fernando. :(

This is being posted from the account that had the page deleted.

Should we contact the email [email protected] to recover the page? Is there somewhere else we need to communicate about these sorts of things?

Yeah sending a mail to that address is never a bad idea in situations like these.
I also found multiple games on that account which have been removed. I guess it goes without saying we need to know WHICH game it is that needs to be recovered, so best to put that in your e-mail as well ;)

Y'know, I'm also having the same problem trying to download Undertale Fight Simulator from the WayBack Machine...
