The development of my game is coming to an end, so I'm starting to think about promotion, commercial and stuff. One of this question is : Should I make a demo version ? If so, should I release it, before the complete version or in the same time ? I'd really like to have opinions on the matter :) .

AFAIK releasing demo and complete version at the same is only done for paid games, that is demo is free and complete version is priced.

If your completed game is free, why bother making a demo? just release the complete version

Maybe you can repost this question in here.

Sounds like a good idea. Of course I didn't make the precision in my question, but I'm talking about a paid complete version.

Having a demo helps potential customers to test your game before buying it.

It won't reduce your sales. If anything, it should help attract more people! Because you have a demo that gives a reason for the players to try and play first. It also trims people who might leave bad reviews because of different expectations.
