We can indeed wonder what the point is of the current system where old versions are kept, when there doesn't appear to be a system that allows downloading older versions...

We definitely want to do this. The current system was built partly for this reason. Currently versioning is used to downgrade and update games for the client but it's built to do much more. Sadly it's hard to prioritize working on this with everything else we have on our plates.

If you'd flush / delete all the older archives this will possibly clean up your servers, not a bad thing as old releases typically are of no use to the developers.
I've been searching for 2 days to find an older version of bonetale. I need this.
i have been trying to find older versions of fnaf world simulator. i need this very much.
