Hey guys, welcome to the Game Jolt Achievements System. The goal is to create the best darn achievements system that works with as many platforms as possible while still being extremely easy to use. To get to our goal we need your help.

We currently have the following libraries/plugins available:

We're also looking for willing devs to create some code to work with the API for Flash, Unity, Silverlight, and anything else. If you'd like to take up the mantle just let me know and I'll get you going. I'll be working on the documentation for creating your own API code soon and I'll be sure to post that as soon as it's up.

The only feature currently implemented is trophies. You can add some trophies for your game by going to Your Dashboard > (click the game) > Manage Trophies. This is also where you'll find all the stuff you'll need for working with the achievements system, such as your game ID and your game's private key. *Note that only devs in the closed beta will be able to see your trophies.*****

Just to be sure. What happens if someone earns a trophy/achievement within the game, can they see their own trophies anywhere, or do I need to implement something for that?

Likewise, what would be really nice would be if you could have friends and compare trophies with them.

People can see the trophies they've gotten in their profiles, and on the game pages. You only have to implement something in-game if you want to.

And, yeah, the friends feature is planned and will be built out to supplement the trophies. I'm going to try to make it a sort of battle against your friends thing in the future.

Should we post somewhere in this forum about games with trophies? I've completed development on one and UG will be adding the necessary code to the gmk very shortly. The game's on site at the moment without connection but with trophies displayed.

EDIT: It now has eight functional trophies. Made especially for them too - I'll certainly consider making some older games compatible though. http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/platformer/la-rolloux/1282/

One question: Are non-beta-testers completely excluded from this beta, or can they win trophies but not implement them?

Not sure if this is a problem with the system or the game, but NAL I can't get the final trophy for "getting all previous 7," and I did get 'em all.

This seems pretty cool so far. One thing that would be helpful though is to be able to show/hide trophies. This would be useful for two reasons. First of all, when adding trophies to an existing game, you don't want the trophies showing up until after the developer has uploaded the new version supporting them. Secondly, it would be nice to have trophies for uncovering hidden content and secrets, but not spoiling those secrets by having the trophies name and description displayed before you've unlocked them.

I think that for every language/engine you make this for it should have the same API for convenience, so maybe add some guidelines or something for those of use who want to implement it.

Also, Id like to try to make one for C++..I'll just need to know what protocols your using for connecting to the trophies server

Wow, this sucks. I can't do the C++ version because apparently, you guys use different MD5 hashing algorithms

@WadeMcGillis , there are two problems you could be facing.

1) Sometimes when you generate an MD5 hash, it's less than 32 characters long. If this is the case, prepend some zeroes (0).

2) Your signature is wrong because you are just MD5ing the incorrect string.

EDIT: I've just played your test game and it seems to work fine. Have you fixed your issue?

Do you guys have any plans to support Unity in this? Im not in beta but wondering for after beta? Ive been picking up on unity and want to do more with it. Just Curious

Idk, i think i sent email and never got a um.. email back or maybe i overlooked it. And i did see it pop up i thought it was a public thing lol. Well i guess i should pay more attention to email lol. I dont have much time to get on gamejolt cause i got college and stuff. And i pop in to play some games but cant make much since busy with school. Next week going on spring break from college and then next week after that spring break from highschool.. Dual credit is a pain
