A Cat Named Dog is a side-scrolling platformer game about the titular cat named Dog one day finding their owner has gone missing. Run, jump, dash, and die a lot, in this action-packed 2D platformer developed by one person over the course of... far too long.

This game contains:

- 5 levels, each with their own unique enemies, obstacles, boss and music.
- 2 difficulty modes, Standard and Classic.
- 2 bonus game modes, Boss Rush and Speedrun.
- An entire OST composed by local idiot, Krick.
- Support for both keyboard and controller.

As it stands, this game is as complete as I can willingly make it. Developing this game has been draining, but I hope you can still enjoy it!

Been taking a break. Sleep schedule's been bad. Trying to find the motivation to do most things is difficult. Hope to get back to working on the game soon. W key also messed up. Shift + W doesn't work, and W key occasionally types two W(s). Really sucks.

The april fools joke was that there was no april fools joke.

Due to me adding a separate tutorial level, I'll be redoing the first level completely, and that'll take a while. I also plan on redoing the second and third level.

Regarding Level Progression

I just realized the debug info in the last post shows the game running at 61 FPS. That's uh... literally impossible for the engine. I think I may have just posted a cursed image.

Perfect weather for swimming!

or, low gravity platforming, if you're Dog.

Happy Valentines Day, everyone!

The current state of the game

I hope all of have a good 2020.

Thank you for sticking around for almost 4 years as some idiot fumbles around with a game you're interested in.
