This game takes place after Sonic Generations when Eggman and Robotnik are stuck in white space. Eggman told Robotnik all the mistakes that he made, Robotnik wasn't happy. Until Robotnik found a portal back to Modern Sonic's world. Eggman saw the portal and said “You found a way out, thank you” and then Robotnik pushed Eggman back and said “Thank you for telling me all the mistakes that you have made, now I'm going to start the biggest war your world has ever seen and kill Sonic once and for all!” Robotnik went into the portal. Robotnik spent 10 years working on the biggest war that the world had ever seen.
