What do you think?

dawg fix your phone guy

I just beat the demo!

also this game is awesome!

Saw that other comment (yknow, the one thats probably above me as of writing this on Hot) and I think I might have a few idea on how to make the existing tasks a bit harder.

1: I'd suggest having Rob be active earlier in the night, or even just at the start of it. Make Hopson and Barbara a bit faster (Not too much now, this is just the first task) and maybe also make the pipes a take smidge longer to do their thing. I'd also suggest something to happen once you're halfway through like in the third one, since it's just a little weird how, so far, there's only one task where that happens.

Also, just for some QoL changes, how about making the hitbox for the valve not the valve object itself, but a circle that's the same size and position as it? Just suggesting this since the holes in it make it stop tightening/loosening. Also maybe a sound cue once you're done tightening.

2: I'll be honest, you might need to overhaul this one entirely. It's honestly WAY simpler than 1, not to mention how it's pretty much just Night 2 of BNC Classic with one more mechanic. There's really not much to expand on at all with this one.

3: Unless you made the hitbox for Marvick smaller than I thought up close, I'd suggest having that be first and the far away be second, minus the eye color mechanic, of course. Speaking of that, try making the eye color independent of the position. Maybe have Mia bang on the door a bit longer and have the colors for the orders mix up halfway through. (Colors don't match, but symbol does.)

And that should be all! Oh, and remember the whole sound cue debacle from my last comment? Well, I kinda overlooked Rob; remove his as well.

I mean, unless you're planning on making him lightning-fast later. I dunno.

honest review:

i give the demo a 5.5/10.

my reasoning for this is because the game seems to be trying to hard in certain aspects as well as having a ton of unnecessary content like sounds and the sort. why is there a sound cue for everything? and why is the alarm for electricity so loud? it removes a lot the difficulty the game seems to be going for.

my other problem is the art style. it looks really weird in some parts and lacks depth and detail. everything seems too flat to me, or maybe i’m being too critical. the entire game definitely needs another layer of physical darkness and maybe some simple shading, but that’s just me.

another problem i have is the tasks. they’re boring and lack difficulty. i was hoping they would be a tad more difficult (but not the bullshit awwj does with its tasks obviously) but they just seem way too easy, especially because literally everything is explained. i would give suggestions but i have no idea how to improve something like this.

overall, the game just isn’t that great in my opinion. i can definitely see what you’re going for, but it’s lacking in the aspects i mentioned above, and there are some clear flaws, too. hopefully you can understand what i’m trying to say here and use this review to improve the game as you see fit.

I like how task 2 is the baby's nightmare circus minigame this game is really good I also stumbled across a bug where the timer would break and the night would basically never end like the clock would glitch out.

KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS GAME IS STILL BEING WORKED ON, AND ANYTHING YOU FIND IN BOTH DEMOS IS NOT FINAL.

You're an average man, Benjamin Smith, looking for a job. One day, in 2018, you read the newspaper and find something related to Mia's Restaurant, a place where Mia and her gang entertain kids and grown-ups alike. The restaurant is currently looking for someone to be a night guard to watch over the place. Your job: watch over the building from 12 to 7 AM. Simple, right?

However, things at the restaurant are not as they seem. Mia and her friends have a strange tendency to wander around the building at night, and for some odd reason, will kill anyone who attempts to enter the building after hours. And that includes you. Now, you'll have to survive five whole nights defending yourself from them.

Okay, the new demo shouldn't have those extra options available right from the get-go now. Forgive my little slip-up!

Minor update:

Turns out I accidentally left "developer mode" on in the extended demo. Please wait while I fix it.

After nearly a year since the last demo, the EXTENDED demo is finally out! Go play it now and see what's changed!
