will this need voice acting?
I really like the description provided. Seems like a fun game that is a derivative from the actual thing. Good job devs! Can't wait for it to come out!!
Deltarune Grief-Stricken is a fangame made by very small team of people. This fangame is planned to have two parts in it with the first part starring a new trio of heroes from Hometown a few years before our original heroes, the Delta Warriors we know.
The trio, a human named Harlow, a monster named Mark, and another monster named Sara, discover the Legend carved in the walls of a lost cave far outside of Castle Town. While Harlow and Sara remain skeptical, Mark has full belief that they are the heroes the Legend speaks of. He ignores the mention of a Dark Prince and continues to insist upon it. Tragedy strikes Harlow months later when his cousin, hospitalized from a disease the doctors claim to be unable to cure, passes away on the day of Christmas. Harlow is left feeling immense anger towards the doctors for their perceived inaction.
Harlow, having grown more distant after a few days, treks out to the group's hideaway behind the graveyard with a walking stick he'd been gifted. With the stick clutched, a twisted determination coursing through his veins, and an old fairytale in mind, Harlow breaks his walking stick and creates a fountain in the center of the hideaway, opening a Dark World that would reflect everything he felt within.
This story is made to take place after the events of chapter 4. There are items and mentions of events FROM chapter 4 so I highly recommend playing it or watching a playthrough.
Most things planned for the game include:
Custom re-sprites for every character included in the game.
Different battle sprites based on the weapon you choose to have equipped.
A deep, well-made story.
Introductions of new ideas such as Dead Dark Worlds and extreme new lengths of a SOUL's willpower.
This story's own weird route. Your choices will matter.
Great visuals. (Hopefully)
Hard yet manageable fights. (Also hopefully)
Everything having both purposes and reasons. Almost nothing is there just because it's cool.
Everything being tied to the original Deltarune lore carefully while trying to change nothing that already exists lore-wise.
I hope to make this ONE of the most ambitious Deltarune fan projects out there even with a small team. I'm not claiming it will be the best because it likely won't. I just have big dreams.
When the first part starring Harlow's team is completed, I will post that as a demo for anyone interested. The maturity rating is the way it is for a general basis as there's a few scenes in the first half of the game that are taken into consideration for rating the game. It's not purely and simply violence.
Questions can be sent through Email to [email protected] for Q&A purposes if you have any or even if you just want to send messages regarding the fangame. This page is also subject to change along the way.
This game will take a decent amount of time to get done or to make mildly playable but I can almost promise that it will not be cancelled anytime soon or for any reason.
(But things can always still happen or go wrong. Bear with us, friends.)
