What do you think?

This game should be updated. It has the potential, but really needs to be fleshed out a bit.

Here is my feedback for Gothical:

Rating: I give this game an overall rating of 8/10.

Combat: I think the combat system in this game was well done. The only thing I would say is maybe add a system where you can specifically aim at an enemy because sometimes the character would shoot in the wrong direction if the enemy was not close enough to him for the character to auto lock on that enemy.

Enemies: I think the skeletons in this game are way too easy. I played this game three times and only got hit by a skeleton once. At the same time, I think the bats are way too hard to kill. They take three times as many shots to kill compared to the skeletons and it is extremely hard to dodge their fire. Sometimes, I do not even see the fire come at me, and I do not see the bats sometimes before I get fired upon. I think for the skeletons, maybe adding a skeleton that can shoot ranged projectiles like an arrow would make the skeletons a much more serious threat. I think for the bats, maybe only allowing the bats to be able to shoot at the player when they see the bats and making the fire balls more visible would make them a lot fairer of an enemy.

What I liked: I thought the music fit the game extremely well. I think the satisfaction of killing an enemy is really well done, with the skeletons exploding to bits and the bats making a noise when you kill them. The terrain suits the game well. I also think the power ups are well balanced, not making the player overpowered and thus making the game boring.

What I did not like: I would say the only major thing I did not like about this game is the fact that there is no way to gain back your health. I was not able to finish the game completely because I would always die before I was able to do so. I think adding just a few health packs in this game would make this game a lot more balanced and enjoyable for the player.

Can anyone say MediEvil?

Gothical

In a dark fantasy world where ancient evils have made their home in the underworld, the reluctant witch Delilah must save the helpless souls trapped within, unable to reach their final resting place. Rescuing them will earn their eternal gratitude, and they will gift you a variety of skills to help you on your quest. Your stay in the underworld is precarious - every death will set you back and change what you encounter.

With procedurally generated skills that give endless replayability, each run will be unique. Hordes of enemies create a fast paced environment, where speed and movement are crucial to surviving. Defeat the hordes to fight powerful bosses, and decide the fate of the underworld.

Features:

  • Randomized skills makes every play through unique, you'll have to react to new situations and think on your toes!

  • Sprawling gothic world to explore, discover new paths and find new locations.

  • Encounter a variety of enemies that will test your combat skills, and try not to be overwhelmed by the hordes of undead.

  • Prove your worth by defeating the two overlords of the underworld.

  • Be wary, each fight could be your last...
