Development

One of my school projects I worked on in Unreal Engine 4. Made in 8 weeks. I was the game designer, music writer, and sole programmer. I only used blueprint for this game, as I wasn't experienced enough to use the actual UE4 API.

About the Game

Lightning Rod is a 3D Puzzle-Adventure title with 2 levels, each level being split up into two sections. Rodney "Lightning Rod" Rodriguez falls into his toybox one day only to discover a whole new world, Toyboxia! Not all is peaceful in Toyboxia, however, as Rod soon learns about the evil Dr. Flame, and his plans to destroy Toyboxia's ecosystem! Toyboxia is a world the relies on its various weather machines to keep the environment intact, and Dr. Flame has destroyed them! Can Rod repair the machines in time?

Controls

WASD to move around
Mouse to look around
Left click to interact/use the menu/advance cutscene cards
Right click to sprint

Gameplay

Phase 1 of each level involves collecting 6 items and bringing them to the goal.
Phase 2 of each level requires you to find and talk to Dr. Flame.

Known Bugs

Rainforest Ridge 1

-The player can get stuck in the water in the lagoon maze. Cause of bug is currently unknown. though keeping the camera facing directly downwards seems to prevent it.

Future Plans

During development, the team decided we would love to revisit this game in a future project. While we'll most likely be restarting from scratch, if you're interested, make sure to follow this game for news updates.
