“Disaster! A huge shipment is set to go out in just a few hours, and the magnet crane is completely busted! You are Mike, a dock worker who has to solve the problem before the shipment is late and you and your pals get fired. Since you can’t use the crane to easily lift them, you’ll have to use your brain, your magnet gun, and your strength to push and pull the crates to the right spots. Break’s over!”
Magnet Mike was a puzzle game I created for a game jam on Battle of the Bits in around one month alongside fellow site users Da_Flarf, Lumby, and John Favourite. It features the titular hero using a magnet gun to move crates around a dockyard. While certainly simple, it's a short, fun experience and a testament to the power and uniqueness of the Game Boy system. This was my first time using homebrew tool GB Studio and it truly was a fun experience.
To play, just download the .gb ROM file and play on an emulator or flash cart of your choice! Compatible with classic DMG and Color models.
