Nce game, but it's a bit slow.

Cool idea for a flappy-style game! I have a touch-screen laptop, and the concept works pretty well. I might recommend that tapping the screen give you a fixed boost upwards rather than increasing your velocity - I frequently found that I would fly too high upwards after firing 3-4 shots quickly.

Also, instead of using Gamemaker's pause function when you die, I recommend creating an object dedicated to pausing and using "instance_deactivate_all()" to freeze everything before restarting the room - this will prevent a window from popping up.

Nice job! I look forward to seeing it further fleshed out.
