This is the story of an alternate world, where, anthropomorphized objects live alongside humans, and have their own section at "Hope's Peak Academy", a famous high-school where only gifted students with incredible talents can attend to. Although it was not the initial purpose of the school, with increasingly tensions of both species against each other, not only does the school "sets them for their life", it is also used to make amends with the two species.
This goes south, and humans start a war against the objects, targeting primarily, ultimate students. In fear of losing their lives, multiple classes from the Objects' segment of the school decides to hide in the school's outposts that are spread around the world.
One of those classes is Magician Hat's, the Ultimate Illusionist, however, he seems to have lost all memory, unlike his classmates, and to make matters worse... a hologram appears and says that now they are in a killing game... to kill and not get caught...
In other words: he is screwed.
