Is this an original title or a sequel to the Five Nights at Freddy’s fan-game, AFTEREFFECT?

It is an original title designed to be a spiritual successor to AFTERFFECT. While it may reuse certain thematic, gameplay, and narrative elements unique to AFTEREFFECT, the game is not designed to be a Five Nights at Freddy’s spin-off or fan title. You can think of it as a sequel to AFTEREFFECT, because it essentially is one. It's a sequel in similar fashion to how new Persona games or new Final Fantasy games treat sequels, with a new setting and characters but similar style. Regardless, the game is not a Five Nights at Freddy's title.

How similar will this game be to AFTEREFFECT?

We are aiming for the same exact style and tone as AFTEREFFECT, just with original plot elements. It is planned to be a heavy narrative-based game but will feature more gameplay such as true exploration and combat.

There’s teasers and plot points for PROJECT VEXIS within AFTEREFFECT. One's a fan title, and the other is an original game. What’s canon?

AFTEREFFECT and PROJECT VEXIS take place in the same universe, even if PROJECT VEXIS will not directly mention or reference any elements of the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise. Therefore, it is completely valid to use AFTEREFFECT to theorize about PROJECT VEXIS.
