Ten years have passed since Five Nights at Freddy's was released on Steam. A game that changed my life in way I could never imagine. For this anniversary I felt the need to tell a recounted story from my memory of each game up until FNaF 6. This may be super long or super short, so bear with me.

FNAF 1

It was the last week of the 2014 summer season, so early September, when one of my friends came over. He was much older than me, I was (almost) six and he was eight. He showed me this video of a youtuber he liked to watch playing a game that would change my life forever.

This friend of mine had shown me every game I love; Garry's Mod, Minecraft, TF 2. He had an allowance and his parents were much more lenient on his internet usage; allowing him to discover games much quicker than my brother and I.

Back to the point, this Youtuber was playing a game called Five Nights at Freddy's, a game that was scary to me for some reason. I quickly became obsessed with the game, and it was fun but also scary. I begged and begged my parents to buy it on my sibling-shared PC, soon they gave in. The two days of chores were worth it though, because the game was even more fun now.

FNAF 2

It was fall, my favorite season. And a new game had just released much to my pleasure, FNaF 2. Out of all the games this one is my favorite and it's not even a competition, this one takes the cake. The fandom was growing at a much more rapid pace and an epidemic of bootleg merch began to rise slowly after this point.

This game is also the game that introduced me to one of my favorite youtubers, Markiplier. A lot of fan songs began releasing around the FNaF 2 release period. Some of these include timeless classics like; Survive the Night, It's Been So Long (obviously), and even Welcome to Freddy's (Madame Macabre) even though it's a song about FNaF 1.

I used to listen to these songs out loud, which I kind of regret now. I was really cringe as a child.

FNAF 3

FNaF 3, one of the most hyped up games in the original four chapters was my least favorite for quite a while. The hoaxes for this game were practically impossible to escape. One of the most memorable hoaxes for me was the Freddyland hoax.

At this point the fandom had reached its peak (in my opinion at least), fan songs and animations were being released practically everyday. A little under a month after the game released, a movie was announced. A movie that took eight years to come out, lol.

Although I still have my grudges with this game, I think the ending was really well put together. Though it doesn't compare anywhere close to the FNaF 6 ending.

FNAF 4

You either adore this game or absolutely hate it. For what was supposed to be the final game in the series, I think it's half-decent. Obviously we now know many games came after this, most people were upset at the thought of this game being the final one. Since it's arguably the smallest one, having no cameras at all.

This game also marked the first game to have a "DLC" (although it's quite literally just a reskin, lmao.) it was 100% a turning point in the franchise, considering the first book was released somewhat near the DLC release. Not only that, it was the first game to have a bunch of unanswered questions; Who is controlling the FredBear plush? What's in the box?

This is also one of the few games where it's not explicitly stated who we play as, causing most of the fandom to be split between Michael being the player, and the Crying Child (his name isn't Evan).

FNAF WORLD

Do I really need to say anything for this game? Everyone hated it, except me.. and a few other people but y'know.

This game isn't really as bad as people make it out to be, I thought it was fun when it released and still think it's fun to this day.

However there isn't much to talk about when it comes to this game so I'll move on.

FNAF: SL

This is my least favorite game to this day, I'm not huge on the point and click to move idea. Although one of my favorite animatronics came out of this game, being Ennard, I don't feel like one animatronic can save this entire game.

All my friends love this game, but I don't really get why. Everything is scripted to happen so there's no chance of something different happening, get what I'm saying?

Anyways, I know you guys won't care about me whining about this game so I'll stop.

FNAF 6: FFPS

Pizzeria Simulator is a unique idea, I like being able to build your own pizzeria and everything, but it's disappointing that it's locked to five days and your pizzeria gets wiped. I wish there was a freeplay mode where you could have a pizzeria until you go bankrupt or quit, but enough about the daytime mode.

The night shift is quite mediocre in my opinion, only four animatronics come after you and their only method of attack can be cheesed very easily, though one of the best endings of any FNaF game occurs during this night sequence.

Speaking of the ending, I truly believe the series should've ended after this point. The ending is practically perfect and it's sad that future games... Security Breach...Rewrite the ending and make it useless (William coming back).

But anyways that's about it for this game.

2024

Although FNaF is a shell of what it used to be, and the community is a mess. It's bittersweet to think that there are kids that act like I used to, in fact I ran into a kid at one of my friends schools listening to FNaF music out loud. Nothing good can last forever, but I'm glad I was apart of this fandom during it's golden ages.

Ten Years is quite a while, and I honestly don't enjoy these games as much as I used to. To be honest, as I've reflected on ten years of memories, I realize these games are very simple. Anyways, enough of the mumbo jumbo. I may write my thoughts down on UCN and the games after that but they aren't really nostalgic to me so I find no point in writing my memories of them.

Anyways, Thank you Scott for a wonderful ten years of memories.

Goodbye, Freddy and friends.

Reaction bait? I would never!

Found the brainrot shelf.

Just a reminder; no matter how hard greedy companies and dickheads like Elon Musk try, AI won't be able to replace humans.

Keep drawing!

just checking in

I love the 8-bit minigame designs in FNAF 3.

There's just something so simplistic about them that makes me love them.

Doraemon Animatronic

8 Days Until the Party..

Maybe this hoax is why I hated FNAF 3 so much.

Being stuck in a stupid attraction compared to a huge defunct theme park kinda made me sad back in 2015.

Devlog (September 2024): What the game is coming to.

Happy Birthday, TF :)
