Making character movement and the HUD took way longer than I thought doing that in Pocket Code for Sonic 3 Mobile back when I started, it was a huge challenge without a PC.

My least favorite part is ofc, finding bugs that ruins my experience. It can be so frustrating when the #Sonic physics don't behave or I find a glitch sprite asset but solving them is the only way to get that smooth gameplay. #Devruary #Sonic #SonicJ

(SPOILER IN ARTICLE, ig.)

Anyways, i hope you like it

My planning? Well, I keep it simple:

I get an idea, think about how it fits the #Sonic style, and start building.

I prefer jumping into the engine and seeing what feels right.

I use Sonic Maker as image example btw.

Bad habits? None yet! πŸŒ€ Starting on Pocket Code meant I was always learning. I’m focused on forming good habits like staying consistent and taking feedback rather than looking back. Every line of code is still a new lesson! #Sonic #Devruary #SEGA

For my current game, I've moved from Pocket Code to GameMaker Studio. It was a great place to start on my phone, but GMS gives me the power I need to really nail those #Sonic physics and speed thanks to help from others Devs too. #Devruary

amy looks so cute

My favorite part of gamedev is playing them. Nothing beats the feeling of finally testing a level and seeing the #Sonic physics click into place. Specially with Sonic J by @jtn00b , It makes the work worth it! Thanks Jean!
