500+ Followers!

Wow! DorD now has more than 500 followers! I’d like to thank all of you guys for helping my humble little game gather this much attention. Online communities like this are the reason independent games thrive so much these days. All of you keep supporting games like these because I’m not speaking for myself when I say every follower, comment, and rating is very much appreciated.

Sadly, games take a while to make. It’s going to be while before I have another sufficent piece of content, but just like with DorD I’m going to have fun and provide more experiences that are enjoyable to you all.

Thank you again and keep gaming : )

Are these names fun? Cute? Nonsense? I am trying out this defamiliarized naming scheme for the different species in Insectile. I'd love any feedback!

I'm on Bluesky now! If that's your thing and you want to help me support Insectile, you can find me at: @narwhalnut .bsky.social or, use the link on my page :)

DorD turns 4 years old today!

I am amazed that with all of the Peach pixel art I've seen that nobody has done a Zelda sprite yet. Anyways, here's my resprite of princess Zelda!

Working on some more enemy actions for my indie game.

Snails and other Insectiles with shells can now "take cover" which shields a portion of their body.

This is like the Tetris equivalent of a defense buff!

I've been hard at work on level design sketches the past couple weeks. Maybe I'll post some soon so you all can peek at my process! Stay tuned :)

Let me show you my favorite Insectile: the Locksnail!

In place of doors and keys in a traditional Zelda-like, Locksnails will be scattered around the world. They act as mini-bosses closing off certain areas!

I'm working on cutscene features like smooth camera movements. Enjoy a snippet of this prototype tutorial!

For those of you who missed it, Belle Boomerang is my newest project! If you enjoyed Dord, why not give Belle's new platforming adventure a look?

Unlike any indie game I've done before, I have this goal with Insectile that the maps should feel "cute" even when zoomed out. At some point, I'd love to do a time lapse of me building one of these rooms :)
