A Big Ol' News Update!

I’ve remade the game from scratch, adding new mechanics to make the game fun, and also adding in some balancing to make things less difficult, while also making the game just as challenging.

One new system added, is that you get a health bar when fighting a boss. This means that you don’t have to suffer through a boss fight with only sudden death on your mind all the time. You get 5 hits before you die.

Another thing I added was a free roam map. Instead of the traditional SMB 3 style of map, you can now freely walk around a small map. Not that it matters, unless really feel like exploring. Who knows, maybe there are some secrets to discover…

Some tweaks were made to Dogs animations. They now have a better jumping animation. As well as the ability to react during cutscenes, which something I never intended on.

A new collection mechanic was added. These wonderful little Chewtoys in bubbles will appear in each level. With up to 3 per level. They will be collectibles that unlock secrets. Like most collectibles, they aren’t easy to grab sometimes. Maybe you’ll need some quick reflexes, or a better understanding of the games mechanics. In general you might just need to git gud.

Dog has friends to help them along the way. One of them being “Jellie” a large green blob that Dog can ride in. When riding in Jellie, you control her, and can inhale enemies in a similar fashion to that of a certain pink star warrior. You can spit them back out to take out enemies blocking your path, as well. While Dog may be floating inside of Jellie, he is still able to be killed with ease, be careful. Jellie can also walk across wide gaps, but is slower and cannot sprint.

Finally, the game will be returning to its downloadable format, alongside full screen support. Hopefully controllers will be supported in the future. No promises, though, as I do not own a controller to test with. However, a mobile port isn’t impossible, and may eventually surface is I can get around to it. And don’t worry your cute little faces, there will be no ads or IAPs in the mobile version. The only thing you’ll have to worry about is paying for the game, which is a given.

I hope this news is sufficient enough. Maybe it made your day a little brighter, or maybe you don’t give a rats ass, I honestly dunno. Any questions you have, put em in the comments, I’ll try to answer the best I can.

See ya!

Something?

look at he go

I hope all of have a good 2020. Thank you for sticking around for almost 4 years as some idiot fumbles around with a game you're interested in.

Remember the poll I did two years ago in regards to the preferred health system? ...

As I grow closer to completing the first world of the game, it becomes harder to find the energy to work on it more. I've been sucked into other games, and my own lack of energy. Let's hope I can going on it.

Perfect weather for swimming! or, low gravity platforming, if you're Dog.

Welcome to... HELL 2

Happy Valentines Day, everyone!
