A good reference for making special pixel art drawings (cinematics) are the games of the PC98, a Japanese computer brand from the 80s.

Although most of them were hentai games, it has very useful examples, especially if you make VX ace RPG maker games as they are adapted for that screen size (640 x 480).

I find the good use of space and compositions very useful and ingenious, as well as the selection of colours and the use of dithering to give textures.

Valdrich holding up Rozen, the Nymph. This is one of the possible player vampire romance in RAVENSBURG, and is a gift to my good friend @Ella_B_Art who likes this ship. A bit different from my usual horror stuff, but still retro.

The Unsheathed Sword

This is a purely animation loop. I made it as a request of the composer of RAVENSBURG for a future music video. I wanted it to have the feel of a Metal or Gothic Rock album cover.

RAVENSBURG UPDATE! This time focused on lore and interactions with Abyss of the Sea and Rozen the Nymph. Our frivolous Elf Meinhard got an expanded scene with new drawings. And 2 original music pieces added. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3314710/RAVENSBURG/

Here's EVEN MORE #GameJoltColors25 great art from you fellow Jolters!

A ZOMBIE girl eating a brain! Is a bit early for Halloween but I made this for @Manuelaa as a gift for her OC. I also got to practice some new brushes and techniques besides pixel art. I honestly think it looks very metal.

Your fellow Jolters are still hard at work making GREAT #GameJoltColors25 art!

There's still time for YOU to be part of it. Check your quest log to get started.

Men want only ONE thing and is ADORABLE.

Especially if they're playing their favorite Vampire RPG.

This scene with Carol and Kris in #deltarune was chilling (heh). Wonder how Kris felt when it happened.

This week's Fan Art Friday celebrates Undertale! Accept the quest in your quest log to get started.

I returned to my pixel-art/binary style. This time I tried to practice with a fast fanart of my favorite character from Fear & Hunger and see how it goes. I personally like Marina's smug attitude.
