Four years ago I published my first FNaI fangame, FLaN5. Everything began on new year's day at midnight, I was on a Discord call w/ Janik 55555. At that time I was trying to get into 3d modeling, and as we joked around the idea of making an Illuminy model struck me. By 2 AM it was complete, it lacked any brick texture and I kept it like that for a while because I didn't know how to do that.
After making some silly short animations and character variants using deformations on the Illuminy model (fuck around and find out style) I had the idea of taking it a step further by making a FNaI fangame using 3d graphics. FLaN5 is “Five Luminos at Night 5” but this wasn't the first name I gave to this project, it started with FIaN5, “Five Illuminos at Night 5”, I changed it because it didn't sound right to me, but I didn't make a good job at keeping it consistent, so you can still find “Illuminos” somewhere in-game. BTW I had to check if the title lied, and no it didn't surprisingly, there are 5 yellow triangle characters during the fifth night, something I DIDN'T CONSIDER.
Following FLaN5 I went on making many more: Illuminy.exe, FLaN5 Lumino Murderer, Futurminy on Drugs, Fnai and luminor four night 5 dot diecsi, Chess With Illuminy, Gangster Night Shooting, Five Nights at Illuminy F***boy's, Five lands at lumino 5 . exe 22, Illuminy Party, FNaI Multiplayer, Veggentminy's Corner, FNaI Genso Incident, Purple Illuminy was the Murderer, Turris Minarum, FNaI 2 Multiplayer and more.
Basically if I was working on 4 projects 3 of them were FNaI-related. Did you know that even the Multisweeper prototype was FNaI-inspired?
There's a lot of games I made where Illuminy isn't the focus but you can still clearly see the mark it left on me, the Ultimate Giuseppe Night location is literally a one to one of the FNaI Beta!
If you actually care about the Betaglian Testers this bit of text is right for you: We got together in the first place thanks to the FNaI server, when I made FLaN5 I also created a Discord group dedicated to playtesting it, connecting the dots? This is another reason FNaI means a lot us and by extension me.
My passion for this series has lasted longer that I could've ever imagined but everything has to end sooner or, in this case, much... MUCH later. I've been making FNaI fangames since I was thirteen and after four years that's just not what I want to do anymore. My last FNaI fangame is a love letter to the series, a remaster of the first game and it's out right now so go play it!
I hope that my fangames got more people interested in the source material, and I wish that someday, someone will love FNaI as much as I did . I'll make a post to talk about the state of my projects n'all soon-ish. That's all, peace!
