It’s been a busy week, touching on this, programming this, updating that; but it’s definetly paid off!
So, what’s new?
Well, lots of things, for starters:
New Water
New Sprites
I felt the need to update the water, simply because, even while being very dynamic, it causes most of the bugs for the ENITRE game.
Crazy stuff! So after some deep consideration, I decided to get rid of the water, and re-sprite, re-programme and add some new effects!
As you can see, updating the water paid off! It now plays a sound, and has a splash!
There are no sudden crashes in the game, etc.
If you wonder how I made it, it’s very simple.
I simply check to see if the player collides with the water, and check if the players vertical speed is greater than 0.
With this, entering the water creates the effects you saw.
With the blasters, the sprite update was simple. I just went into Aseprite and created a pretty simple looking one, while giving it lots of detail.
I also just got a new controller, so I decided to make the ENTIRE game, gamepad compatible!
With this, lots of people can play their preffered way.
