A Likely Postmortem

So, there's probably many many questions about this game's development progress. I've always answered with the same thing, that it'll be done "eventually". However, I believe that has changed.

As it stands, finishing Scooped! does not align with my current interests in terms of game development. I wish it wasn't that way, but the truth is that I do not see myself ever finishing it. Unfortunately, I'll likely be letting Scooped go.

Now, this isn't the end of my games- I'll likely continue posting on my Gamejolt account about new projects whenever they happen (Follow me to keep updated)! It's just a goodbye to Scooped. I wish it could have been more graceful, but the development of this game has been weighing on me for a while as this sisyphean task that'll never be completed, and I feel it is time to let it go, for better or for worse.

Now, I do have one more thing coming- A brand new game, created for this year's Freddit jam, Just like the original Scooped was, has it's gamejolt page up now! Go check it out: https://gamejolt.com/games/fazbear-armageddon/724114
The game isn't out yet, but I've put some nice little teasers for both music and visuals on the page. Once it releases though, don't expect additional content post-release, besides bug fixes or QoL/Polish.

Coming up after that, in a very indeterminate amount of time, I have plans for a *fully original* game! There likely wont be any word on this for a while, but I thought I'd mention it.

Either way, thanks to everyone who joined me through this process. It's been a ride.

Scooped! Level editor sneak peek! Maps can be exported to a file, and loaded back into the editor, a standalone program separate from the game. Currently working on importing said maps into scooped, as well as the ability to place other entity types.

New level editor preview!

The original level editor was just clunky, and the data exported from the editor was extremely hard to assemble in-game. So, I'm creating a new editor that allows angles, and works on an edge-based rather than grid-based system.
