"Ah seems I've bumped into a little Einstein." Igarashi watches Liz working away in her usual corner.
"Sock it Socrates. I don't need your enlightened thoughts." She throws back, deep in focus working on a spellcast.
"What are you casting?"
"SHHHH!"
He leans in closer, breath on her skin which sends her off. Her spell failing as it explodes in her face.
"WHAT THE FUCK!!"
"You were casting that wrong."
"I was experimenting not building furniture, you dumbass!" Liz quietly loses at as she tidies up her failed experiment. Having to postpone it and gather more supplies to reattempt it.
"The spell works as is and the likelihood of you finding a variation of that spell is small."
She's about to go off on him until...
"Elizabeth, I've got some news you need to be updated on."
She has to swallow her anger for the time being. Hiding it behind for usual neutral face.
"Master Wynston. I'm all ears."
Wynston looks between Igarashi and Liz, wondering what happened for Liz to end up looking like twinning with coal.
Luna, Wynston's friend and librarian, lands next to him. Her an elderly barn owl like humanoid.
"Ms. Luna." Liz acknowledges. The owl nodding back.
"Igarashi's been accepted as my student. I expect you to treat him with respect."
Wynston announces to Liz's displeasure. She's already struggling to do her own things without Igarashi's comments on how an experiment isn't viable or her theoretical outcomes are highly unlikely.
"Miss Douglas, I hope you show the young man around and update him on how we do things here."
Luna gives Liz a knowing look. She's aware at Liz's complete disregard for the cloak hierarchy system for apprentices and wizards. On multiple occasions being reprimanded by Luna.
"Yes, ma'am." Liz internally trying not to bash her head in on the bookshelves nearby.
"And please keep your own personal experiments in you personal office."
"On that note, I'll have to add you'll be sharing your office with Igarashi giving he did come in at such short notice." Wynston watching her reaction to all of this.
Liz maintaining a neutral face but internally livid.
"And before you ask. Shota's mentor is a friend of mine. And I was hoping you and Shota could learn from each other."
"As for the sleep situation, Igarashi will be in the west wing." Luna adds, giving Igarashi a don't try any fun stunts with Liz look. All female/women bedrooms being in the east wing.
"I'm assuming we are to follow the cloak hierarchy code. Am I correct?" Igarashi enquires, hopefully able to hang that over Liz's head.
"Actually, we don't really enforce that trivial nonsense under my mentorship." Wynston smirks.
"I think it's barbaric and doesn't reflect an apprentice's full proficiency." He turns to Liz.
"Liz here being an example. The school board of wizards has fail her thrice for the sole fact that she doesn't meet one of the criterion to pass."
"Sir, I believe that's the reason those exams are a thing." Igarashi interjects a bit confused about the arch mage's story.
"Patience child. I was just getting to the meat of the story. Despite that of skill in summoning magic she excels in illusory magic far beyond her peers."
Liz awkwardly looking away not a fan of being the topic of their conversation.
"However, I think your overall skill can be beneficial to Liz. As her specialities to you."
Igarashi nodding slowly not too convinced since Liz is a hardhead and stubborn for what he's seen from the young woman.
"Miss Douglas' insight in her specialities and methods may help you with your own tunnel vision, Mister Igarashi." Luna calls outs his insecurities.
"As for my first assignment to you Shota. I'd like you help Liz to study and practice for her magic proficiency exam."
Wynston watches the young man.
"Of course, Master Galfardos." Igarashi bows politely.
Liz rolling her eyes at the formal and over polite pleasantries. Her stiffening up as she see Luna shooting her a behave yourself glare.
