A long overdue update

The past couple of months of my life have been pretty turbulent. Uni killed my motivation, I started driving classes, got into a pretty shitty relationship, spent time and effort trying to work on myself and my personal flaws, and on top of all that I recently started an internship that is required for me to finish my uni course. All of this is consuming a LOT of my time and energy, so progress on everything has been slow.

Starting with Five Nights at Creeper's 4, the main gameplay has been grinding my gears for ages, because none of the ideas I came up for it sounded fun. Recently though, I decided to throw out a bunch of ideas that were leading me to dead ends and try to rethink the gameplay entirely, and I think I'm actually getting somewhere now. I still need to finish a few things but I think the current plan is way more solid than previous ones, which means development can start picking up steam soon.

I also started writing a script for cutscenes which I hope to finish soon. These cutscenes will mostly tie up some loose ends and show the events that led up to Creeper 4. And lastly, the new plan includes multiple endings, and they're not just the good/bad endings that most fangames have. All in all, things are looking exciting for Creeper 4 right now.

As for FNaF Mega Drive, I didn't do any actual work on it since October. I occasionally do research on Mega Drive stuff that could be helpful for this project, and I've been thinking about how I could solve certain technical challenges, but I haven't really implemented anything yet.

My next steps are reworking the graphics to prevent them from using too much VRAM and implementing PCM sounds, but I'm not sure when I'll get around to actually doing these yet.

I also worked on my game engine every once in a while. A couple months ago I restarted development on it because I wanted to make some big changes to the way it works. The new version of the engine is built around DirectX 12 and Vulkan, which require a lot more work to setup, so it's taking longer than the previous version did.

I'm actually taking this project seriously and I genuinely hope to use it for my future games, even if it takes years for it to be ready. I'm really frustrated with the existing 3D engines and I feel like building a new engine is the best option for my projects. It isn't my focus right now though, Creeper 4 and FNaF MD are more important now.

This is all I really have for now. I hope to have more updates soon, but I can't guarantee anything with how life is right now.

bye bye !!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the things I wanna do for my game engine is to add software (no rtx) whitted raytracing to get 90s cgi/blender internal shadows and reflections

Modern CPUs can do 90s cgi renders fast, I don't see a reason why modern GPUs can't do it in real time
