It's been a while since I last posted about Science Xperiment, let alone anything at all here. While I'm still going to reserve sharing most details about the project until everything's ready, there's stuff I felt was right to share right now...
WHAT DOES "PILOT" MEAN?
"Pilot" means the project I'm working on is actually a test of sorts to see if there's genuine interest in SX as a game concept, and to see whether or not I'd like to push it into a full-fledged game. This means the project shows a taste of the game concept, with the content offered prone to changes. If you're wondering about scope, expect three levels, each with unique themes embodying what would be the first area.
WHO'S WORKING ON IT?
You may have noticed from my previous post that I'm not the only one working on this game. I have recruited two collaborators to assist me with areas I am not much proficient in:
Box Dude Studio; game programming
Samwow; soundtrack and level design
I generally tackle artwork, animation, and any other components of game design. However, I tend to assist on what my collaborators are tasked with, should anything feel easy for me to manage!
A RAMBLE
Progress on SX Pilot has been going smoothly!...but not in the eyes of my college. While this project is personally a long time coming, I made it my senior project for college with knowledge it would be put up for an exhibition. I could ramble on about my frustrations with that circumstance, but to keep things short, I ended up feeling that I was not suitable for the exhibition. It's become a burden to my project.
I feel places like these however are much better for sharing my game. Outside of that exhibition, I can continue to work on SX Pilot without making compromises and even put up changes if needed! The exhibition expected me to get everything done by tomorrow, but I feel next month is a better timeframe.
That's everything I feel like detailing for now. Thanks for reading (if you actually did), and see you next post!
