A not so well explained explanation of DF3 lore/story/timeline crap. (PART 1)

Created by yours truly, aka Soulisin.

(FNaH spoilers or something, I'm unsure.)

DONTFORGET3 (aka, Five Nights at Harlow's) can be a severely confusing timeline that is partially due to the fact that it isn't canon to DFC. However, I am here to explain the timeline in full detail (to the best of the word limit), and the possible theories behind FNaH. Note: The actual timeline of FNaH has not been revealed, thus if this is not factual, I apologize.

First, we have the V1 timeline. What is V1? You only know of V2 (because you came in 2022 and noticed V2 as the last download), and the creepy aura surrounding Harlow that we all know and... love?

Basically put, V1 remains the same just like V2 Week 1, however in a much more wholesome way, as this is a more childish version of Harlow. V2 is supposedly when he is a teenager, but V1 is when he is a small boy. So, during V1 and V2 the story remains the same; you are a security guard working at Harlow's Burgers and Shakes, the most popular restaurant in the VOID. Now why is this important? Well, this is where you're spending your time at in the whole game and is very significant to the timeline. You see, Gaster, being that he owns the place, decided to make empty vessels of 3 children, a funny skeleton man who is also the Tumblr sexy man, and...okay, there's only 3 kids and a skeleton. These 4 people are Harlow, Chara, Asriel, and of course, Sans Undertale. But due to the fact that they have no SOULs of their own, they want a human SOUL, thus they attack people during the daytime for nothing but that, so you have to monitor them.

Do you have a jist for the game? Good, because it goes deeper.

Now, as you know, there is a MASSIVE difference in the timeline for V1 and V2. During V1 we played as Wendell Lockhart from the Doodletrip series, thoroughly traumatizing them as we go, but in V2 it's unstated who we might be playing as.

This is when we look at the endings of the games and what happens in V1.

You see, V1 technically has no significant endings, since it's literally just getting a paycheck. But, in both versions, which is PROVEN by V2, Harlow has abandonment issues. Now on Night 6 of Week 1, Gaster tells you that the vessels were upset for your abrupt disappearance. This clearly means something happened regarding abandonment, which is a main theme in both timelines (V1 and V2). Now, it's unknown how we skipped from V1 to V2, since we never have heard of a time skip. But, luckily, we have the livestream in our arsenal. What do I mean by livestream?

Well, like any OG, you probably watch RickyG's livestreams, and as such, you have access to hidden lore pieces. If you have not watched the DF3 livestream, do so, since at the beginning there's a meme intro involving Harlow approaching a computer with the game on it. Now, while yes, it technically has no significance, it does however tie back into the Custom Night ending where Harlow wakes up at a computer. Thus, V1 and V2 are still virtual worlds, since in FNaH's program data, as you can see by the picture below, it is still referred to as "Five Nights at Harlow's", it just has the version number.

As such, the timelines are connected, but also reset. I will talk about this in part 2.

So, I raise the curtain once more. This game will be being made in Ren'Py though, since RPG Maker keeps dying due to the game and not other projects.
