Who woulda guessed, back to back posts about the second greatest artist ever, Cities Aviv.
This stupid post is just to help anyone that may want to get into his music, or who I've recommended his work to. This is just a guide to get into his music, as this man's got a lotta music, and you've got some insane catching up to do. So here's a guide to get into his music as someone who started listening to him relatively late (roughly around the MAN PLAYS THE HORN era if I remember correctly).
Songs to start with
Here's just a comprehensive list of songs to start with. Depending on which song you like the most (or if you like all of them, check out all of them), listen to more songs similar to it that will also be listed.
1. NOT THAT I'M ANYWHERE
His most popular song (for an unfortunate reason) is a great way to start. If you like this song, that's a good thing. However, there's not a lot of songs similar to it.
2. ESCORTS
If you like ESCORTS, and want some faster paced, more energetic stuff from him, here's some songs just like it:
TEARS
SATISFY YOUR SOUL
FOREVER
URL IRL
Head
Fool
Picture Me Gone
Act Up
Melanin Drop
Turn To Smoke
Over
A Million Smiles
Patchwork Demo
3. (I Seen You) Shine
One of his most depressing songs. If you liked the depressing feeling of this one, first off, are you okay, I can talk to you if ya need help
Secondly, here's some songs just like it:
The entirety of the Immortal Flame album
The entirety of the GUM album
The entirety of the Accompanied By A Blazing Solo album (it's one song technically, but it's 38 minutes and is labeled as an album by him)
Backdoor
Dizaster
Third Secret Of Fatima

*Series of Exits
-Blurred-
Get Up With Time
Albums to start with
Here's some albums to start with, if you're just starting out. These are not only his most accessible, but also some of his best. They set you up for his experimentation, but aren't too overblown in its sound:
BLACK PLEASURE
Insanely great album with some of his sharpest rapping and production. There's some really absurd blown out tracks like PURE INFINITE and NORMALIMMORTAL, but there's more chill moments like ESCORTS, REMYND, NOT THAT I'M ANYWHERE, and stuff like that.
Start here for sure.
GUM
If you need a reason to cry, go with this. His most depressing album for sure. The final song (which is Power Approaches) is a 45 minute beauty that brought me to tears on first listen. Some of the most beautiful shit in existence.
Accompanied By A Blazing Solo
Once again, incredibly depressing but so beautiful. Some of his most lowkey / lo-fi work ever.
MAN PLAYS THE HORN
A lengthy album for sure, but a good and incredibly lyrically rich one at that. Some of his sharpest writing is on this thing.
From there, I think you're good to go on your own and listen at your will. You'll naturally discover some songs you'll probably end up loving by him. I'd strongly recommend listening to his albums in order of release date. Other than that, do whatever you want.
I made this list with @Rav-in-the-circus
and @N3nny
in mind, as I've recommended Cities Aviv's works to Rav in the past, and just recently (legit today) recommended him to N3nny.
Hope this serves y'all well if you do decide to listen to him :D
