So, I'm in Morocco for the holidays today. Quite recently, I moved into my grandaunt's house to spend a few days there with my aunt (mom's cousin) and my uncle visited at times.
Fast forward a few days, and I'm in my aunt's room with me and my younger sister. We were talking about some stuff until we talked about something related to the LGBTQ, and she mentioned that she is a progressive and that she supports the queer community. Keep in mind that my family is North African and entirely Muslim, btw.
She later stated that she treats everyone equally and that my uncle (aunt's brother) was progressive too AND she convinced my sister to be supportive of the LGBTQ.
I just felt like saying this because this is a great achievement for me, knowing that people in my family are progressive. I genuinely hope I could be able to come out to her about my sexuality and gender identity.
