You’ve already seen the clean streets of the rich part of the city, the central district filled with tall buildings and the filth of the poor quarter. But while most citizens spend their days in those places, our dear city still holds a few secrets.
As you enter the city, if you turn right on the first roundabout, you’ll arrive to a fancy metal gate that guards a rather big park. As you probably know, people from the upper class enjoy talking a walk through a nice place with plenty of trees, bushes and grass. Why don’t they just leave the city and visit the countryside? Well, that’s a ridiculous question that we refuse to answer!
This park has the shape of a cross, with a bandstand marking the very center of it. It’s usually a nice place in which to spend an afternoon, but one should always look out in parks as there are many hiding places and the police department doesn’t tend to pay much attention to them. It’s said that many years ago, a boy disappeared in this area and was lost for several days. When he got back he wasn’t right in his mind and nobody knows what actually happened to him, this was so long ago that nobody remembers all the facts precisely.
Some citizens have reported damages on the fence, apparently it’s possible to access from the poor quarter through a hole in the wall. The council has yet to take care of this, but looks like the old park isn’t a priority for them and they have more urgent things to take care of.
(this character design is pretty early and still WIP)
Despite all these facts, there are some people that adore this park, one of them is Juliet Allen (whose name might ring a bell). Juliet really loves this part of the city. She spends most of the time in her manor, but one thing she will not miss is her weekly walk and every Thursday, always at the same time, she visits the park to breath some fresh air and take her mind off the problems that plague her days lately.
Is visiting a park and relaxing something you would do? Or is it a waste of time when you could be doing more productive things? Perhaps that ticking on your watch has made you unable to enjoy life’s smallest gifts. Maybe we can’t stop time, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t stop every once in a while.
And that’s all for today. We’ll have a new update in two weeks. Meanwhile, why don’t you join our Discord and hang out with the whole development team?
Have a great weekend! ;-)
