A Year In Review

I had originally wanted to hold off posting this until New Year's, however, the team hasn't been able to prepare for a Christmas post due to our personal lives. I hope this serves as a good substitute, even if it's not a teaser or game news like we normally do.

As 2023 comes to a close, I can't help but look back at the fact this team started in 2016 as a small thing between me and two friends. Never in a million years did I think we would be sitting here in 2023, almost 2024, with:

- 45,000+ total followers on our well-known projects (more on our unlisted and older projects)

- 23,000 profile followers

- 10,000+ followers on Twitter

- 10,000+ subscribers on YouTube

- 30+ team members

- more

It is hard to look at the monitor and process those numbers I just typed, which are minor things in the grand scheme of our success. This team has not only brought us these things, but it has brought me things personally. Someone I can connect and share feelings with, a group of friends I can realize visions and ideas with, a community that makes us fanart and praises us and our work daily. Sure, there has been some bad, but what does that matter in the long run? I could list so much and repeat the same old story about how we've all grown, but where is the heart in that?

As I type all of this, I am on another relisten of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album by The Beatles. To be honest with you all, I don't even really like The Beatles. The album is great though. Track 2 of the album is a track I hold very dearly to me, especially in regards to this post.

Last year I wrote that I didn't know how we have gotten where we are. Do I know the answer to that now? No, not really. However, it is easy to account for factors that could have contributed to this outcome. The most important of these is the people surrounding me. This team and the community have helped me and our platform significantly. Often people will look at only me as the person behind everything. I find this as a somewhat backhanded compliment. The truth is: Radiance is not just me. It's my employees and volunteers.

I close out this year as a thank you to these people and all who read this. After the release of FNaTI 2020, I wrote I wouldn't have done this without all of you. This still rings extremely true, even to those who have dwelled in grudges trying to tear us apart or sabotage things.

In 2024, I expect things to progress and change further.

We have been approached by someone with plans to make our first original project. This project will hopefully be on Steam, and who knows what will happen from there. After Five Nights to Remember and Treasure Island, Radiance will be exiting from the FNaF fangame community. While this should've been done years ago, we're a little behind on our workload. I'm sure most of you haven't minded us staying a bit longer. It is time to grow out of these shoes and enter a new pair.

Thank you all again for the unconditional support you have given us, I hope we can reward you all for this in the new year. Merry Christmas, and happy holidays. See you soon.
