This one isn’t really new news, in that I’ve been making this game for a while now. I just finally felt like sharing it, that’s all. It’s another Puzzlescript game. For those who are disappointed, one: Puzzlescript is awesome, guys, and two: I’m relearning how to make stuff with RPG Maker, so there. I hope to eventually make a decent game using that one day.
For now I have this game I’m working on. It’s a bit personal too, so I hope it’ll turn out good. All I can say about it now is that it looks too easy/simple, that I don’t think that many people will like it. But I hope in its simplicity it is able to deliver the message/story I have attached to it well.
Whether or not I am able to do it, only time will tell.
In a way, I got lucky in this part with my last game, “to the stars”. It was originally supposed to be a text-based, exploration-heavy game. But it required no less than 1930 different viewable and eplorable locations, not counting the character, the wife, and the various objects floating around space, and the multiple stuff you could do with said objects. Needless to say, it was insane, but it would have been an awesomely different game with a different feel. I think as a text-based game, the feel of the game would be so different as everything is imagined, and the bareness of the text only format should only emphasize the vast emptiness of space which you are exploring, making you feel more alone and unsure of where you are supposed to go. It definitely would have been hard to finish and would require more than one playthrough, which was my intention. But as other people who make games know, sometimes your project changes over time and it turns into another project and you find ways to make it work. I’m glad with what I’ve done, and I hope to one day update it with harder rooms and some animation :P
For now, I have this new game to finish and show you all. I hope you all like it.
This is me signing out for now!
